Events in and around Collie River Valley

As the seasons change, there are always new and exciting events to look forward to in the Collie River Valley area of Western Australia. With a diverse range of activities and attractions, there is something for everyone to enjoy all year round.

Summer Festivals:

During the summer months, the Collie River Valley region comes alive with a variety of festivals and events. The Collie Showgrounds hosts the annual Collie Agricultural Society Show in early November, featuring agricultural exhibits, rides and games, and live entertainment. The town of Collie also holds the Collie Blues and Roots Festival each February, which attracts thousands of music lovers from across Australia.

Another popular event in the summer is the Collie River Ramble, a 5km fun run/walk held in January that takes participants through picturesque bushland scenery along the Collie River. The event raises funds for the local volunteer ambulance service and is a great way to stay active while supporting the community.

Autumn Harvest:

As autumn sets in, the Collie River Valley transforms into a foodie paradise with a range of harvest festivals and markets. The annual Harmony Festival is held in March and showcases the region's diverse cultural heritage through food, music, dance and art.

In April, the Black Diamond Farmers Market takes place at the town's central park, where visitors can sample fresh produce from local farmers and growers, as well as artisanal food products and crafts. Winter Wonderland:

While winter may bring cooler weather, the Collie River Valley still has plenty to offer visitors during this time. The popular Gnomesville Winter Wonderland event takes place in June, where the town's famous gnome population is dressed up in winter wear and the village is decked out in festive lights and decorations.

For those who enjoy outdoor activities, the Collie Motorplex hosts its annual Night Speed Drag Wars event in July, featuring thrilling high-speed races under the stars. And for those who prefer to stay indoors, the Collie Art Gallery is always worth a visit, showcasing the stunning works of local and regional artists.

Spring Blossoms:

As the weather warms up, the Collie River Valley region bursts into bloom with a range of spring festivities. The Collie Agricultural Society also holds a Spring Show each October, showcasing the best of the region's livestock and produce, while the town's parks and gardens are awash with colourful flowers and blossoms.

The annual Collie Miner's Festival takes place in November and celebrates the town's rich mining history with parades, exhibitions, and mining demonstrations. Visitors can also take a tour of the nearby Collie Coal Museum to learn more about the area's fascinating industrial heritage.
